HURRICANE – The sounds of hammers pounding in nails and circular saws cutting lumber filled the air during a recent morning at Whites Mobile Home Park.

Gov. Justice Announces Standard & Poor’s Affirms AAA Credit Rating for Fund

Standard & Poor’s Rating Service has once again affirmed West Virginia Housing Development Fund’s “AAA” issuer credit rating. The “AAA” qualification is Standard & Poor’s highest ranking and the Fund is the only state housing finance agency to receive an “AAA” rating.

U.S. Congressman Alex Mooney Joins Home4Good Event Announcing Funding to Address Homelessness in West Virginia

Congressman Alex Mooney (R-W.Va.) was the special guest for an event held Thursday to announce funding to fight homelessness across West Virginia.

Fund Sponsors Fair Housing Poster Contest

The West Virginia Housing Development Fund is proud to partner with The West Virginia Human Rights Commission to present their 8th Annual Fair Housing Poster Contest.

Elementary school students from across the state were asked to develop a poster based on the phrase “Fair Housing Opens Doors.”

The purpose of the contest is to demonstrate non-discriminatory housing for all people regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, blindness, handicap or familial status.

WVHDF Thanks Capito, Manchin for Directing Housing Funding to State

The West Virginia Housing Development Fund would like to thank U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R – W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D – W.Va.), both members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, for directing $3 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s National Housing Trust Fund to the Mountain State.

The money will be used to increase the state’s supply of affordable rental housing for extremely low-income households.
