Fund Helps Revitalize Community

BLUEFIELD – From blighted to beautiful.

That’s how many are describing the transformation along the 1100 block of Highland Avenue. Dilapidated, dangerous structures were razed and replaced by multifamily rental units and one single family home.

Fund Makes It Easy To Find a Lender

The West Virginia Housing Development Fund has unveiled a new interactive tool that allows homebuyers to connect with lenders who use Fund home-buying programs.

The process is fast and easy. A visitor clicks the “Find a Lender” link on our homepage. Longtime Employee Named Director of Loan Servicing

Fund Sponsors Fair-Housing Themed Poster Contest

How do young people view equality and fair housing? The West Virginia Housing Development Fund hoped to answer some of these questions by sponsoring a poster contest for middle and high school students.

The first place winners were Elizabeth Knox, a senior at Ripley High School, and Makayla McMillion, a sixth grader at Lenore K-8 School in Williamson.

Fund Recognized for Clean Water Program

The West Virginia Housing Development Fund has been recognized for assisting homeowners and helping to create a cleaner environment.

In partnership with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, the Fund has developed the On-Site Systems Loan Program. This program is designed to help eligible households repair or replace on-site septic systems or connect to a public treatment system. The On-Site Systems Program was recently recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Office of Water.
