HUNTINGTON – Barry Holland has a simple, but profound way to describe his new home.

Originally from Beckley, Holland grew up in Cleveland before joining the U.S. Army in 1975. He spent a decade working with, as he says, “bombs and guns.”

Home4Good is a newly-created program developed by the Federal Home Loan Bank Pittsburgh and the West Virginia Housing Development Fund to address unmet and critical needs in the existing Continuums of Care across the state.
The initiative will provide a flexible source of funding for organizations working to address homelessness in West Virginia with the primary objective of ensuring that if an individual is faced with homelessness it is rare, brief and non-recurring.

This year’s theme borrows a phrase from the late Fred Rogers, the eponymous star of the long-running PBS show Mister Rodgers’ Neighborhood. Students from across the state were asked to develop a poster based on the phrase “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”
