CHARLESTON, W.VA.— Together with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh (FHLBank Pittsburgh), the West Virginia Housing Development Fund announces the latest round of awards through Home4Good. This joint initiative is dedicated to supporting Continuums of Care across West Virginia that work to assist individuals experiencing homelessness or those at risk of becoming homeless.
Home4Good aims to ensure that instances of homelessness in West Virginia and other states served by FHLBank Pittsburgh are rare, brief, and nonrecurring. By providing essential funding to local organizations, the program plays a crucial role in empowering communities to deliver vital services and support to those in need.
This year’s awards, which total $1.75 million, will be distributed among Continuums of Care to support 20 projects and programs designed to address the multifaceted challenges of homelessness. These initiatives will focus on providing immediate assistance, securing stable housing solutions, and developing long-term strategies to prevent future homelessness.
“The West Virginia Housing Development Fund is proud to partner with FHLBank Pittsburgh to facilitate Home4Good,” said Erica Boggess, Executive Director of the West Virginia Housing Development Fund. “Since 2018, this partnership has resulted in $8.175 million to support initiatives dedicated to making homelessness in West Virginia rare, brief, and nonrecurring. Housing stability is a cornerstone of strong communities, and we thank FHLBank Pittsburgh and the state’s Continuums of Care for their investment in housing accessibility across West Virginia.”
Each year, Home4Good invites Continuums of Care to submit project proposals for consideration. Representatives from both FHLBank Pittsburgh and the West Virginia Housing Development Fund review, assess, and score the applications before making final recommendations. This year, the program will fund all 20 submissions at a total of $1.75 million.
